Stay Safe on AdRood

Your safety is our priority. Follow these tips for secure transactions.

Meet in Public Places

Always arrange to meet sellers or buyers in busy, well-lit public areas like shopping malls, bank lobbies, or police stations. Avoid meeting at private residences or secluded locations, especially for high-value items.

Inspect Before You Pay

Always examine the item thoroughly before making any payment. Check for damage, verify authenticity, and ensure all accessories are included. For vehicles, request a test drive and check documents carefully.

Use Cash on Delivery

Prefer cash on delivery or pay only after inspecting the item in person. Never send money via bank transfer, mobile payment, or wire transfer to strangers before receiving the item.

Beware of Too-Good Deals

If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Extremely low prices for popular items are often scams. Research market prices and be suspicious of listings priced significantly below average.

Never Do These

Never share your bank account passwords, PINs, or OTPs with anyone

Never pay advance money before seeing and verifying the item

Never share personal documents like NIC copies with strangers

Never click on suspicious links sent via messages or email

Never meet alone, especially when dealing with high-value items

Never rush into a deal under pressure from the seller

Recognize Common Scams

The Overpayment Scam

A buyer sends a check for more than the asking price and asks you to refund the difference. The original check bounces, and you lose your money.

The Fake Escrow Service

Scammers create fake payment protection websites to steal your money. AdRood never asks for payment through third-party escrow services.

The Shipping Scam

Someone wants to buy your item without seeing it and offers to pay extra for shipping. They often use fake courier companies to steal money.

The Job Offer Scam

Fake job postings asking for registration fees or personal banking details. Legitimate employers never ask for money upfront.

The Rental Scam

Properties listed at unusually low rents, with owners claiming to be abroad. They ask for deposits before you can view the property.
